Since the end of last year, ARTS supports in the work planning for the freighter conversion project "A330-300P2F" of the Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) in Dresden.

The DLR estimates that German air cargo volume will rise from current 2.3 million tonnes to 7.3 million tonnes per year by 2030 and therefore more cargo aircraft will be needed for the German market.  Converted cargo aircraft are considered an economical alternative to factory-new freighters; thus freighter conversions that the EFW realises for Airbus models are all the more important. The EFW has already converted 190 Airbus aircraft into freighters. More conversion projects are planned for 2016.

In November last year, ARTS took on the sub-project work planning for the EFW freighter

conversion of Airbus models A330-300. Using the construction plans the ARTS project team of 15 work planners and one project manager creates the work packages for dismantling the passenger aircraft as well as for the following refitting. During project management ARTS is not only taking on scheduling of aircraft mechanics and electricians, but is also always taking economy, quality, and time into account. In addition to planning the work instructions for the installation and removal of aircraft components, the team updates lists of materials and always coordinates with the design and production departments of EFW.

"We are pleased to have found a competent service provider in the aviation industry with ARTS, which brings not only expertise in project management and extensive knowledge about the industry, but is a partner with whom we have been working for years in the most diverse challenges with confidence," said the project manager at EFW. For over 10 years ARTS has been supporting the traditional company in Dresden with its expertise in the aeronautical field, be it with individual experts, along with complex processes or with turnkey solutions.
